Professor Mason H Durie, of Ngati Kauwhata and Rangitane iwi affiliations, is Head of the School of Maori Studies at Massey University.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Science Research and Technology, and of the Board of Directors of Te Papa Tongarewa. Until very recently (June 2000) he was Chairman of the National Health Committee.
Professor Durie's research interests include Maori health, contemporary Maori household profiles, and outcome measures for Maori.
