Katrina is the Waikato Regional Commissioner for the Ministry of Social Development. Previous to this appointment she spent 20 years working in the health sector, working in mental health, community development and senior management in health purchasing organisations, including Regional Director for the Midland Division of the Health Funding Authority.

Katrina has degrees from Waikato and Massey Universities and has attended the Darden Executive Management Programme at the University of Virginia.
