Most of us know Vicki as the energetic former mayor of Christchurch. While Vicki was mayor of the South Island's largest city for nearly ten years, she has been part of many other ventures including being a director of the Reserve Bank, Chair of the Trust Bank Canterbury Community Trust, currently is a director of Jade Stadium and the commercial director on the Board of Netball New Zealand. Last year Vicki established the New Zealand de Bono Innovation Institute, which is about promoting innovation and creative thinking at all levels.
Now the Development Manager for Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology, Vicki is a member of the Government's Science and Innovation Advisory Council and a trustee of the Young Inventionz Trust. Vicki has two sons - one wants to be a scientist when he grows up, the youngest one is aiming to be a triceratops dinosaur.
