PSSM 2002: Facing the Future

the evolution of the Public Service to meet the challenges ahead

The twelfth annual Public Service Senior Management (PSSM) Conference will be held at Te Papa Tongarewa, Museum of New Zealand in Wellington on Tuesday 24 September 2002. The conference is an invitation-only event for public service and state sector chief executives and senior managers.

The purpose of the PSSM is to reinforce the common values and collective identity of the Public Service. It provides an opportunity for the Public Service to look at the future, and the world, through the same window and unite, uplift and challenge senior managers.

This year's conference will challenge delegates to recognise and respond to the needs and expectations of the next generation. Judge Mick Brown will provide the opening commentary and will be followed by Craig Soper, Dorothy Wilson and Kaa-Sandra Chee. The State Services Commissioner will be the next speaker and Matthew Palmer will conclude the morning session. Hon David Caygill will open the afternoon session, followed by Mark Steel, Debbie Power and Clint Rickards. The Minister of State Services, Hon Trevor Mallard will be the final speaker of the day. Sir Paul Reeves will chair the conference.
