Allen Schick

Allen Schick

Allen Schick is Distinguished University Professor of Public Policy at the University of Maryland and Visiting Fellow at the Brookings Institution. He previously served at the Congressional Research Service and taught at Tufts University.

Allen specialises in political institutions, public finance, and budget policy and politics. His most recent books include The Federal Budget: Politics, Policy, and Process (Brookings Institution), A Contemporary Approach to Public Expenditure Management (The World Bank), and Modern Budgeting (OECD). He has worked in 45 states in the USA and more than 30 countries, and has served as chief consultant to the New Zealand Government in assessing its reform of the public sector.

Allen has a B.A. from Brooklyn College, and a Ph.D. from Yale University.
